Instructions
Start by heating 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
While the water heats, take a separate bowl and mix together the softened butter, packed brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Use a fork or small whisk to blend these ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
As soon as the water begins to boil, carefully remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the hot water directly over the butter mixture in the bowl.
